Inspection Expert, Metadata, Findings, And Measurement Tabs
Detailed explainer for the Inspection right rail: Expert tab, metadata context, findings, AI, measurement, quality, and calibration controls.
Right Rail Structure
Expert Tab
The Expert tab is where reviewers manage assumptions that can materially change interpretation. It is intentionally separate from quick drawing tools because these controls affect confidence, correction, and save decisions.
- Switch between RGB and Thermal source context.
- Review measurement readiness and source metadata fields.
- Override measurement calibration fields only when the reviewer has a defensible basis.
- Calibrate from a known ruler result when supported.
- Configure thermal emissivity, reflected apparent temperature, distance, humidity, range mode, and isotherm bands.
- Run or inspect quality gate results before saving findings from weak evidence.
Metadata Context
Metadata is the link between a pixel and an engineering interpretation. In the inspection viewer, relevant fields include image size, camera FOV, focal length, zoom ratio, range, gimbal pitch, gimbal roll, gimbal yaw, flight yaw, camera heading, rotation, capture time, and modality.
Findings Tab
The Findings tab is the central list of observations created from inspection evidence. A finding can be open or resolved, draft or published, hidden or visible, and can carry geometry, title, notes, category, severity, evidence, and report state.
- Select a finding to zoom or focus the canvas where supported.
- Hide noisy overlays without deleting the record.
- Apply triage templates to standardize title, severity, category, and notes.
- Edit selected finding fields directly or from the canvas card.
- Delete only when the finding is genuinely invalid, not merely resolved.
Measurement Tab
The Measurement tab displays the current measurement tool, latest result, source blockers, save action, confidence state, and last saved time. It should be read before turning a drawn shape into a finding.
Quality Gates
Quality gates classify evidence as pass, warn, fail, or unavailable. A failed source can require an override reason before saving findings. This protects reports from silently including low-quality sources without reviewer acknowledgement.
